7 tips to help you develop your Creative Voice.

¡Hola amigos!

Developing your Creative Voice is a process that requires patience and dedication. Along the way, doubts and fears will arise, and at times, we may even be capable of sabotaging ourselves.

I don't have the secret formula to turn this process into a pleasant one, but I can share with you 7 kind reminders, to avoid despair, to reconnect with your purpose and develop self-compassion.

1. DO NOT COMPARE YOUR WORK TO OTHERS

Stop scrolling through Instagram wishing your work would make a 180º turn. Instead, invest that time in working on your projects with passion and love.

I invite you to take a look at your projects from 1-2 years ago and see the progress. You've surely grown a lot as a creative person in these months. And if you don't have projects from 1-2 years ago yet... It means there's still plenty of work ahead of you.

2. DO NOT STOP MODELING

Step 3 of The Bloom Method makes it pretty clear: ONTO MODELING!

To model is to observe what your favorite role models do, take ideas from their work, mix them, and apply them to your project. But remember, modeling is not the same as copying. In my Creative Voice Masterclass, I'll teach you the difference.

If you're looking for a genuine Creative Voice, you're going to need some genuinely inspiring role models.

I invite you to revisit your role models at least once a year. We grow, we change, we mature, and our voice needs to draw from new sources.

3. DO NOT STOP LEARNING NEW CREATIVE TECHNIQUES

Testing things out is also one of the steps in The Bloom Method .

Many times we hit a creative block, experimenting and playing around can get us out of it with fresh ideas. Trying out new creative techniques keeps our imagination active and motivated.

4. DO NOT STOP DOING PERSONAL PROJECTS

Personal projects set the path to where you want to go.

Many days, we get caught up hoping that our dream client will send us an email with our dream project, but the email never arrives. So, why not develop the project yourself and send it their way?

Personal projects are fun, help you shape your portfolio in the direction you want, and connect you with potential clients. Don't underestimate them!

5. DO NOT FORGET TO BE CONSISTENT

Consistency is one of the keys to your Creative Voice; it's what makes it recognizable to others.

Don't forget to repeat elements, themes, colors, strokes, tools, and similar subject matter when working on your voice.

Don't forget to be selective; we're after quality, not quantity. Set boundaries and rules as your voice solidifies, and this consistency will gradually blossom.

6. DO NOT FORGET THAT YOU’RE UNIQUE

We're all unique, and you, amigo, are no exception. Don't forget this because it's the key.

If you're unique, you have a unique way of seeing the world, and that's what you need to value and bring out in your creative voice.

In The Bloom Method, we work with the Creative Voice Tree, a tool that will help you capture all your unique qualities and translate them into a visual language.

7. DO NOT GIVE UP

I don't have much more to say; Amigo, all that matters is that you keep trying!
